School Vacation Theater Workshops

Plant a seed and watch it grow...sing, move, act, create! At TCAN, arts education is our priority - but your children will only know they're having fun! Kids build funky people structures, paint daffodils and breathe life into classic kid’s stories - acting, dancing, and singing their way through a fun-filled week. Vacation theater workshops are the ideal place for children to learn about the arts and develop creative skills, as they discover more about themselves by celebrating the best they can be.

By selecting from a variety of sessions, your child can choose what they want to do, and you get the guarantee of a rewarding and fun arts experience. Sessions are designed for every interest and age group (pre-school through teens), as students learn from dedicated theater professionals offering superior guidance and leadership.

Single week, full-day vacation arts workshops are offered during both February and April school vacation weeks for children ages 5-11. See online class schedule for specific workshop programs, descriptions and schedule. Tuition is non-refundable unless a replacement student is available on a wait list. Refunds must be requested in writing 14 days prior to first scheduled day of class, after which all tuition is non-refundable.

For half-day workshops, please have your child bring a nut-free snack and a water bottle. For full-day workshops, your child must bring a nut-free lunch, two nut-free snacks and a water bottle. Your child should be dressed in clothes that can get messy! Upon registration, download an Emergency Information Form, at the bottom of this page, and bring the completed form with you to the first day of class. All workshops are grouped by age and taught by professional theater artists.

2020 Schedule

FEBRUARY VACATION WEEK

February 17 - 21
The Paper Bag Princess
A Paper Bag Princess is not your grandma's fairytale. The princess has her dress burned at her wedding and loses her prince to a dragon. So she heads off to face the dragon and save her prince wearing nothing but a paper bag. Along the way she encounters all sorts of twisted characters which she outwits with cunning and intelligence. In the end she learns that not all are what they seem. Stereotypes are often untrue. Looks are not nearly as important as what's on the inside. AND even a dragon can wind up being your friend, especially one that's only collecting princes and actually treats them with utter respect and kindness.
