TCAN Announces Temporary Closure

While it was our hope that, by taking precautionary measures, we could continue presenting programs in an intimate venue of our size, today we made the difficult decision to suspend all events, movie screenings and private events of any size at TCAN effective today through March 31. It is highly likely that the closure will continue into April, and we are working now to find mutually acceptable dates for all the performances impacted by this closure.

This is a voluntary measure that we are making out of concern for our patrons, members and volunteers to assist in addressing the spread of COVID-19 in our community. While a ban on all gatherings of 250 people or more would restrict our most well-attended events, we believe a temporary suspension of all programs is the right thing to do.

During this temporary closure, the TCAN staff employees will continue working on location or at home at their option. We are developing a plan to ensure our box office is staffed and phones are answered during regular box office hours, to address any questions from our cherished community.

All tickets for events originally scheduled in March will automatically be transferred to a new date later in the year, once the reschedule date has been mutually agreed with the performer. This temporary closure should not penalize our patrons and we will work with you to ensure your satisfaction.

We are working to update our website to reflect any changes to our schedule as quickly as possible. If a reschedule date is confirmed, we will update our current calendar listings to include a reference to the new date. Ticket holders will be notified by email of rescheduling dates as they are confirmed.

An organization like TCAN can only be sustained if patrons purchase tickets, make donations or become active TCAN members. Public support is always important – but particularly in uncertain times such as this. We appreciate your consideration in this extraordinary time and will keep you informed as we update our plans.
