The
TCAN Players present Bill W. and Dr. Bob
The Center for Arts in Natick, 31 Main Street
February 1 - 9, 2002
Directed by Chucke Plaistek
Synopsis:
The story of Alcoholics Anonymous, the secret society
that came to be in the mid-1930's and grew in a few decades to a
fellowship of millions without a leader. The play introduces the
founders, Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith, their wives, and the friends
they found along the way - fellow drunks who could and could not
stay sober by following their program of recovery. An inside look
at Bill and Bob's humble trial and error beginnings, the price paid
and the risks taken for this new venture, the rejection of their
help by those who seemed to need it most, and what has proven, one
day at a time, to be the most successful treatment of alcoholism
to date.
