| Our vision of TCAN
is expansive, and our work is far from over. When completed, The Center
for Arts in Natick (TCAN) will have two complete concert stages, with seating
capacity for 280 on the main floor and 120 seats in the upstairs performance
space.
Plans for TCAN include exciting features
that include:
- Main stage concert theatre - seating 280
- Upstairs concert theatre - seating
120
- Rehearsal and practice space for music/dance
classes
- Administrative offices
- Performance recording capability
- Art Gallery display area
- Snack bar facilities
The upstairs concert room will support
presentation of smaller concerts, children's shows, spoken word events,
meetings and conferences. The dramatic architecture of the
historic 1875 Summer Street Firehouse will create a very special
performance environment and allow scheduling of multiple events, classes
and meetings concurrently with use of the main stage theatre.
With the completion of rehearsal and
practice rooms, TCAN will have the ability to offer low-cost music
instruction, rehearsal and practice space for performers, and additional
exhibition space.
By expanding services it offers to the public, TCAN supplements public
schools and other institutions challenged with providing comprehensive
services in a difficult funding environment while meeting the cultural
needs of the Metrowest area.
