Help create a rich arts experience for patrons and artists as part of our production and event support team!

Being part of the event staff is a popular way to volunteer at TCAN, and a wonderful way to meet new people, hear great music and help support the arts in our community.

We always need event volunteers to fill these positions:

BOX OFFICE STAFF
Verify bank. Organize advance sales tickets for will call, sell and distribute tickets, sell memberships, and answer phones prior to show. Change marquee to reflect next event. Tally ticket sales for Event Leader.

CONCESSION STAFF
Verify bank. Prepare coffee. Display refreshments. Stock refrigerator. Turn off refrigerator prior to show. Pre-show and intermission sales. Restock café to be ready for next show. Tally sales for Event Leader.

USHERS
Check seating configuration for the event. Handout programs and assist patrons in locating seats. Help with gallery and lobby lights throughout the show. Cover CD sales, if needed, and tally at event close. Clean-up any left trash in performance area and bring to dumpsters. Check bathrooms to refill paper needs. Set up for next event.

LIGHTING DESIGN TECHNICIAN
Using TCAN’s lighting equipment, support’s concert events by designing appropriate lighting scenes and transitions. As a member of TCAN’s tech crew, works with audio engineers to support and enhance the performer’s creative vision. Responsible for focus of lighting instruments, maintenance of bulbs and gels. Requires some experience in theatrical/concert lighting.

APPRENTICE AUDIO ENGINEER
Assist our house engineer at artist equipment load-in and breakdown, configure microphones and stands, test audio levels, prepare cables and store equipment after the event. Learn about live sound mixing from TCAN's roster of professional audio engineers.
