The Center for Arts in Natick is pleased to recognize the Foundation for MetroWest for a capital grant of $5,000 to support the renovation of its second floor as a performance space and movie theater.
The Foundation for MetroWest announced the grant in a Grant Celebration ceremony held December 12, 2016 at the Weston Community Center in Weston, MA. The ceremony recognized 38 grant recipients who were awarded $304,600 in grant funding for Arts & Culture and Family Support programs.
TCAN will designate the funds towards its $1.4M capital renovation project which will transform the upper level of the Firehouse to become a 120-seat digital cinema venue featuring state of the art projection and sound equipment. The movie theater is scheduled to become operational in late January 2017 with a grand opening slated to present the Academy Award winning film “West Side Story” released in 1961 and directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins with music by Leonard Bernstein.
The Foundation for MetroWest is one of TCAN's earliest supporters, providing funding since the year 2000 for a wide variety of capital projects, technology upgrades and cultural programs.
