Capturing the essence of their subjects with the fluidity of watercolor is the challenge and delight of these two artists, nature and the environment being common themes. Lavonne, a resident of Holliston, defines and shapes her subjects with clear colors, bold brush strokes, and a carefully chosen palette; her painting style reflecting her love of the environment. Buildings and landscapes in all seasons inspired Steve, a Natick resident, to pursue watercolor painting; composition being of primary importance. People, wildlife, and complicated structures are the most challenging, and snow scenes are more fun.

There will be a reception to meet the artists on Sunday, September 8, from 1 to 3 PM in the TCAN Gallery at 31 Main Street, Natick. Refreshments will be served. Gallery hours are Tues.-Sat. 12-6 PM. Directions to TCAN and performance information are available by calling 508-647-0097, or at www.natickarts.org. The art is in the same venue as the performances and can also be enjoyed while attending these events.
