A little bit about myself: I am a freelance artist whose primary career has been Computer programming, but major interest has been Art. If I can put it in to words, "I have always allowed myself to be struck down by Beauty." I've been doing work in pastel and photography for many years, but now I am fully dedicated to photography. My interest is not limited to the matter or functionality of the subject; colors, shapes, settings, and the mood they represent provoke my feelings and emotions about the subject. Photography attracts me by its ability to show reality as never seen before and by its power to stimulate my imagination about anything I set an eye upon. I use Photoshop (computer software used to manipulate images) solely to magnify the Beauty which is already there.

My work in the show is comprised of mostly triptychs, made with Olympus half-frame cameras from the 1960's and 1970's. The photographs consist mostly of three consecutive frames, which are hand printed on black and white watercolor paper, and then hand colored using color dyes and watercolors. Each print is unique, because of this extensive hand retouching. Most of the landscapes are taken in France, England, Ireland, and Switzerland. The exact locations and titles are left out to avoid any contextual or intended meaning. The viewers are invited to enter these spaces and find their own meanings.
