"Color in Motion" on view
at The Center for Arts in Natick
Show runs July 2 - August 1
Reception July 10
Color comes alive in computer graphics and paintings by Dennis Miller, Peter Wood DiIanni and Robin Litster at The Center for Arts in Natick, beginning July 2.
The unique styles of the three artists, in their first show together, are united by their ability to evoke movement in their prints and paintings. Miller, a composer of electronic music, creates sharp, detailed computer-generated forms that display rhythmic patterns similar to those in his musical works. DiIanni, who is also known as “PWD,” explores the surreal and mysterious in high-contrast, figurative paintings vibrant with action. Litster uses layers of color to represent different emotions interacting forcefully in her large, abstract paintings.
Miller’s work has been featured locally and internationally, most recently at the Boston Computer Museum, and will be included in an upcoming online edition of the Atlantic Monthly. DiIanni exhibits in galleries and other spaces throughout the Boston area and in New York. Litster has shown her work locally, in New York and in Scotland.
A reception for the artists will be held Saturday, July 10 from 4 – 7 p.m. at The Center for Arts in Natick, 31 Main St., Natick. In the past year, TCAN has shown the work of more than 100 area artists in 14 gallery shows.
The gallery is normally open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free. Please call to double-check these hours, as the gallery is staffed by volunteers. The art can also be viewed during musical and spoken word performances at the Center, evenings Tuesday through Sunday. Ticket prices for these events vary. For more information about TCAN events, call (508) 647-0097 or visit the gallery web site, www.natickarts.org.
