Natick student artists exhibit work
at The Center for Arts in Natick

Show runs May 4- May 28

Natick middle- and high-school students will exhibit drawings, photographs and color studies used to create a mural for the Natick Center T Station at The Center for Arts in Natick, May 4-May 28.

Students in grades 7-12 worked with artist David Fichter to design a 90-foot mural that they will paint during May and June along the lower platform of the station. The project is supported in part by grants from the Natick Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

The TCAN exhibit of the students’ preparatory work for the mural is being held in conjunction with the Natick Public Schools’ annual K-12 student art show at the Morse Institute Library. An opening reception for the town-wide exhibition will be held at the library on Friday, May 7, from 4-7 p.m.

In the past year, TCAN has shown the work of more than 80 area artists in 12 gallery shows. The gallery is normally open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free. Please call to double-check these hours, as the gallery is staffed by volunteers. The art can also be viewed during musical and spoken word performances at the Center, evenings Tuesday through Sunday. Ticket prices for these events vary. For more information about TCAN events, call (508) 647-0097 or visit the center’s Web site, www.natickarts.org
