Printmaker, photographer interpret ``Humans in Nature’’ at The Center for Arts in Natick
New show begins Feb. 9
Printmaker Kathleen Cammarata and photographer Donna Hamil Talman bring their distinct visions of `` Humans in Nature’’ to The Center for Arts in Natick, beginning Feb. 9. Cammarata’s richly-colored and -textured works invite viewers to ponder the relationship between humans and other species. Hamil Talman’s vivid blending of nineteenth-century photographic techniques with watercolor evoke a connection between an ancient world, where nature was revered, and our modern age.
The exhibit is the first at the Natick gallery for the regionally- and nationally-recognized artists, both of whom live in Worcester. Cammarata currently shows her work throughout New England, while Hamil Talman’s work has recently been featured in several national exhibitions. Hamil Talman was also among six artists chosen to represent Worcester in a cultural exchange with Pushkin, Russia.
``Humans in Nature, ’’ which runs through March 7, is the tenth gallery show at the Center for Arts in Natick’s temporary location at 31 Main St., Natick. In the past year, TCAN has exhibited the work of more than 75 area artists.
The gallery is normally open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free. Please call to double-check these hours, as the gallery is staffed by volunteers. The art can also be viewed during musical and spoken word performances at the Center, evenings Tuesday through Sunday. Ticket prices for these events vary.
