Focus on Natick
A Photography Exhibit Open to All
In order to draw attention to the visual beauty and diversity
of Natick, Natick 360 and the Center for Arts in
Natick (TCAN) will sponsor
a photographic exhibit
with
Natick
as
the subject.
Photographs
will
be on display at TCAN
from April 28 to June 30, 2007. Visitors to the exhibit will be asked to
vote for their favorite photographs and winners will be announced during
the Natick 360 Strategic Choices Weekend, June 8-10.
Who may exhibit?
Anyone may exhibit: amateur, semi-professional and professional photographers,
residents of Natick and nonresidents.
What is the subject?
Natick is the subject: Natick places, Natick people, Natick impressions,
what Natick has been, what it might become – what Natick means to the photographer.
What photographic techniques are allowed?
Any technique is allowed: prints from film, digital photographs and prints,
manipulated photographs, color and black and white photographs, painted
photographs,
collages – as long as the underlying technique is photographic.
How are the photographs to be displayed?
All photos must be framed and ready to hang. No photographic image may
be smaller than 8” x 10” and size framed cannot exceed 20” x 26.”
May the photographs be offered for sale?
Yes. The standard TCAN
commission will be applied to all sales.
How many photographs may each photographer submit?
Each photographer may submit a maximum of three photographs.
How do I enter the exhibition?
Samples of all photographs must be submitted by March 30, 2007.
Sample prints no larger than 8” x 10” and no smaller than 5” x 7” may be
mailed to TCAN, 14 Summer Street, Natick, MA 01760, Attention: Natick Photos.
Samples
may also be submitted
electronically
to natickphotos@natickarts.org in a jpg format, with a maximum
dimension of 800 pixels. Please include your name, address, email address
and telephone
number
with any submissions. Those invited to exhibit will be notified
by April 6,
2007.
How will photographs be selected for exhibition?
All
photographs will be reviewed by a panel of experienced judges, with decisions
based upon judgments of technique, presentation and overall
interest.
When must photographs that have been selected for
the exhibition be delivered to TCAN?
When must they be picked
up? Photographs that have been chosen for the exhibition must be delivered
to TCAN on Saturday, April
28 between 10:00 a.m.
and 1:00 p.m. Photographs must be picked up at TCAN on Saturday,
June 30 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Will cash prizes be awarded?
No cash prizes will be awarded.
